ORION AND ALEX RACING'S LCS

Is that the response you get when you ask one of your former buddies
to keep track of your lap times for the tenth time today? If so you
need the new Super Lap Counting System (LCS). Team Orion has partnered
with Alex Racing to market the innovative personal lap counting system.
The system is very cool. It comes with a transponder that uses a small
infra-red beam to trigger the LCS receiver that you position somewhere
around the track. As your vehicle passes by the receiver it registers
the lap. The LCS counts lap times to 1/100th of a second, it keeps
track of best lap, individual lap times and total race time. A sound
signal indicates start, each lap, best lap, laps under target time
and the end of practice. And donÕt worry about getting someone
elses times if more than one person is using the LCS at your track,
there are 100 different transponders available. The LCS receiver can
be adjusted to work with any transponder. The LCS will come with one
transponder and have a suggested retail price of $325. Additional
transponders and PC-Link software will be available separately. Orion
the new item will hit the streets in September.

This is one trick unit and for the really serious racer this will
be an essential tool to determine just how well you new setup is working.
In the end it all comes down to factions of a second and with this
new gadget you will just how much faster you need to be inorder to
be competitive at the track. It isn't cheap but I'm sure these lap
counters will start showing up at the track soon.
